Ashley reached out to me this fall while searching for Asheville Engagement Photographers because she wanted new photos with John to print and hang around the home. We planned out their session at Max Patch, a gorgeous bald mountain 1 hour outside of Asheville, North Carolina. The hike up isn’t too strenuous and we had such a great time! They were so so sweet, and their love shows through in every image.
They worked this photo session into a fun day trip to Asheville, visiting the Biltmore and having dinner together. If you’re looking for Asheville Engagement Photographers, I would love to plan a session with you!
This location was absolutely stunning! Many people love to go to Max Patch to camp or even just to have a picnic and watch the sun rise or set. However, there are a few things you will want to know before planning a trip to Max Patch:
-The last leg of the drive is on a gravel road, so give yourself some extra time to navigate it, and be sure you are in a car that is good on rougher terrains. (This drive can be very treacherous in the winter so if it is snowing, you may want to plan your session for a different time!)
-The parking lot is very small and fills up quickly, especially on weekends around sunset. Many people will park along the sides of the road and walk up to the trailhead, so be sure to use care.
-Remember to LEAVE NO TRACE. Anything that you bring up the mountain with you should also be with you coming down. Max Patch has had issues in the past with overcrowding and littering which is just so sad. This is a beautiful spot, so if we want to keep returning to it in the future, remember to leave it how you found it. This is not the location for popping confetti, or leaving behind waste of any kind. It is also important to stay on the trails and paths specified.
