Alexander Homestead Wedding | Charlotte NC

My future Charlotte brides, I recently shot the most beautiful wedding at Alexander Homestead and I have to tell you ALL about it! Let me start by saying that Angelica and German were so sweet and their day was so special. Although it was a super hot day in August, everyone had the absolute best attitude. This couple was so happy to be getting married and their guests were thrilled to be there celebrating with them!

Ok guys, this venue is STUNNING! Guests from all over the country came to Charlotte for this wedding at the amazing venue. With a few different houses on the property, there were plenty of areas for our dreamy shots. Angelica and German had their ceremony in the courtyard under the gazebo, and later went to the barn to their reception.

Alexander Homestead creates such a romantic environment for a wedding day! From the quiet garden lit with string lights to the modern barn that opened up to the outside, this is the perfect venue for Charlotte brides who don’t want to venture too far for their celebration.

While Angelica and German were originally not going to do a first look, they were sold after reading my bride guide that talked about the sweet moment it can create! This first look gave them an opportunity just to be together before the ceremony started and the day got too busy. When they arrived, they read beautiful letters together before turning around for the official first look… which was AMAZING!! Their reaction to seeing each other was one full of pure joy, and you could tell they were simply so excited to see each other.

This stunning bride’s dress was truly timeless, classy, and full of sentiment! Angelica chose to wear her mom’s vintage wedding dress after making it a little more her own. It was so precious how she wanted to include her mom… and the dress was absolutely beautiful!

From top to bottom, Angelica thought of every detail for her special day! While she wore a beautiful set of heels for the ceremony, she traded them in later for special wedding day Converse sneakers. The entire bridal party joined in the fun and wore similar sneakers for the reception, and it made for some great dancing. I mean, who doesn’t want to dance the night away in some All Stars?!

Angelica and German’s ceremony was in Alexander Homestead‘s courtyard, where they got married under the picture-perfect gazebo! Everyone got to hear their love story — of how they met in Las Vegas, they moved to Charlotte, and fell more in love during quarantine before deciding to get married. Surrounded by all of their family and friends, they said “I do!” in the heat of the August sun and it couldn’t have been more perfect!!

P.S… We can’t move on until I tell you guys that their sweet little flower girl took her job oh so seriously in her Hollywood shades! She was THE cutest!

This was one FUN reception! Located in the barn, guests enjoyed a fun dance party, lots of food, and a photo booth! This group was such a blast and had so much fun breaking it down in the barn for the evening. When the dancing began, the barn doors on the sides opened up to the gardens outside, giving guests a place to walk around and enjoy the beautiful property.

When it came time for the send off, Angelica and German opted for a bubble send off — one of my favorite kinds. These send offs are not messy at all and create such a magical to end an amazing day!!

Now do you see why I said this was such an incredible day?! I am so glad I got to shoot Angelica and German’s day and had the opportunity to meet them — they were the best!

Thanks for hanging out with me and hearing all about this amazing wedding at Alexander Homestead. You should definitely check them out if you’re a bride-to-be in the Charlotte area.
